The Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer Association, Visit SoSi, The Danville Running and Fitness Club, and Danville Parks & Recreation is pleased to announce the 16th Annual Bridge2Bridge 5K Charity Walk -- Untimed, 5K Run 10K Run, Kids Fun Run, and a HALF MARATHON. Virtual options are also available.
Since our inception, Bridge2Bridge Danville has raised over $1,000,000 which benefits cancer patients within Danville and Pittsylvania County. In 2024, nearly 1100 individuals participated in this event which allowed Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer to help many local cancer patients with medications, wigs, travel expenses and more.
Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer is a local 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides assistance to cancer patients by providing travel reimbursement, prescriptions, nutrition, medical supplies and equipment, prostheses, and wigs, as well as emotional, and educational support.

**HALF MARATHONERS PLEASE NOTE**
There will be a course change this year (2025), for the 1/2 marathon. The Showdown @ Angler’s Ridge, a premier USA Cycling and UCI-sanctioned mountain bike race, will take place at Anglers Park the same weekend as Bridge2Bridge, April 11-13, 2025. As a result, we are unable to utilize this space for our runners. We have worked hard to come up with a new route which will showcase a large portion of our beloved RiverWalk Trail System. This may come as good news to those of you who prefer a flat and fast course! For those of you who loved last years' hilly course, start your training early, as it will make its' return on April 11, 2026! We received a lot of positive feedback on our inaugural course and look forward to its' return!

Family Pricing
An immediate family of 4 or more receives a $5.00 discount per registration. Family pricing only applies to all registrations received at one-time, during one single transaction. Family discounting is not retroactive. Additional family members cannot be added after a completed transaction to receive family pricing.
Refund Policy
All entries are final. Entry fees are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be deferred to another event or future Danville Bridge2Bridge Event. An entry can only be used by the person it is assigned to. Entries cannot be transferred to another person.
Event Cancelation Policy
If "in person" events are canceled, registrations for those events will automatically be moved to the "virtual" race.
Minimum Age Participation Guidelines - Healthy Youth Running & Development
Recommendations from the Cleveland Clinic and the Road Runners Club of America recommend guidelines pertaining to youth participation in road races.
5K Age 8 and over || 10K Age 10 and over || Half Marathon Age 16 & older. Please consider this information before registering your child.
T-SHIRTS
GUARANTEED T-SHIRT DEADLINE IS MONDAY MARCH 24TH.
Event shirts are available to all those that register on or before Monday, March 24, 2025. A limited amount of extra shirts are available on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS, at packet pickup, for those registering after the guaranteed deadline.
PLEASE NOTE: *Kids 1/2 Mile T-shirt is optional, a shirt can be added to the Kids 1/2 Mile Fun Run for $5.00.
ASSISTED PARTICIPANT INFORMATION
We are pleased to provide an opportunity for "Assisted Participants" to enjoy race day. An "Assisted Participant" is one who cannot participate in an event by themselves and needs the help of another known as a "Pusher". The "Assisted Athlete" will use a device such as a racing chair that is designed for race competition, ie..hand brake, tether, appropriate wheels/tires. *Children in strollers are not counted as "Assisted Athletes".
"Assisted Athletes" and "Pusher" will both receive bib numbers, packets and shirts-if registered by the t-shirt deadline of March 24th. Both the "Assisted Athlete" and the "Pusher" will be placed together into an "Assisted Athlete" category and assisted athletes and their "pushers" will not be eligible for Overall Awards or Age Group Awards.
**Please note that the first 1/10th of a mile on all assisted courses is a cobblestone surface and is not compatible for use with a "standard" wheelchair.
Assisted Participants may participate in the 5K Run, 5K Charity Walk, 10K Run as well as the Half Marathon. Please note the suggested time limit of 2:45 for Half Marathoners.
"Assisted" participants will start their event 5 minutes prior to the start time of the "non-assisted" participants.

We STRONGLY suggest that you pick up your packet and race materials on Friday if at all possible!

We will no longer be registering participants at packet pick up on Friday or Saturday/Race Day.
This does not mean that you cannot register yourself on the B2B website via your computer or phone-prior to 8 am Saturday morning.
We strongly suggest that you do not wait until Friday or Saturday to register!
We will have a "SOLUTIONS TABLE" to address all types of registration questions/challenges but please plan on registering YOURSELF prior to race day. There is a lot happening on race day, and having our participants prepared ahead of time helps us all have a more smooth, and enjoyable race.
TIMING, RESULTS, AWARDS, TEAMS
TIMING
MyLaps Electronic Timing will be used to provide results and to score all events. A timing tag is located on the back of each bib number, with the exception of the walkers. Please wear your number on the front of your shirt or shorts. Bib numbers must be visible throughout the race, especially at our start and finish line.
RESULTS
Results will be available on the event’s RunSignUp page. Participants that have opted in for email and text results should receive notification soon after finishing their event.
AWARDS
Overall awards will be ranked by “gun time”. Age Group results will be ranked by “net time”.
Half Marathon
Finisher medals will be given to ALL half marathon finishers.
Trophies to the Top 3 Males/ Females OVERALL.
Trophies to the Top Male and Female MASTERS (40 & up).
Medals to the Top 3 Males / Females in each age group.

In order to get through the awards ceremony in a timely fashion, we will start announcing the top 3 winners in each event as soon as we are given official results from our timers. Weather permitting, we will give out the awards just outside of the Community Market.
Kids 1/2 Mile Fun Run-Age 10 & Under
A trophy will be awarded to the 1st Male and 1st Female in the kids fun run.
Finisher medals will be given to all participants.
Assisted Participants: 5K Run, 5K Charity Walk, 10K Run, Half Marathon
Finisher medals to Assisted Participant event finishers.
Assisted participants will not have Overall or Age Group awards.
TEAMS
5K Run, 10K Run, Half Marathon:
- A trophy will be presented to the fastest team, ranked by the cumulative time of the top 3 performers, for each of the following events: 5K Run,10K Run, and Half Marathon.
- All teams must have at least 4 participants per event.
- Both male and female participants can participate on the same team
- All teams will receive one honorary team certificate
5K Untimed Charity Walk:
In response to those who answered our survey following B2B 2024, we will no longer be timing the walk or providing awards for this event. The majority of those who responded stated that receiving an award was not a priority to them and that they would rather see the funds directed to the Danville Cancer Association. We are appreciative of our walkers who come out to support a friend, a family member, or are recovering from a cancer diagnosis themselves. You are an integral part of the success of this event and we thank you for your continued support. We will be providing an honorary certificate to all of the teams who are walking in 2025.
If you would like to time your walk, please download the FREE Strava App onto your phone and use this to track your walk time. This app will allow you to record all of your physical activities and serves as a great motivator to monitor your daily, monthly and yearly activities.
