Cheboygan Area Chamber of Commerce
Many of the hotels and inns are located right along the Cheboygan River, near downtown and along the route to and from camp. Many also offer ample parking for large vehicles and trailers. Cheboygan is on the sunrise side of Lake Huron and at the tip of the state with all that being “up north” has to offer, where you can also enjoy very favorable rates, making Cheboygan both an ideal destination and a wallet friendly one. Should you find rooms sold out in Cheboygan, Mackinaw City is the next town over and just a 20 minute drive from camp.
Pine River Motel
This classic motel is situated in a nice, quiet alcove away within walking distance of the Cheboygan River. All rooms are on the ground floor so, its easy to bring your bike and gear in and out, a totally no-fuss stay. Rooms include Wi-fi, cable television as well as a bathtub and shower.

Best Western River Terrace
Located by the Cheboygan River, this low-rise brick hotel features simple rooms feature a mix of traditional and modern furnishings, free Wi-Fi, cable television, as well as coffeemakers and mini refrigerators. Petoskey Area Visitors Bureau
The Petoskey Area is located on Lake Michigan's Little Traverse Bay in northwest lower Michigan. A variety of outdoor activities and attractions abound, as does the dining and shopping ambiance you'd expect in the Rockies or New England. The lodging is as diverse as the guests, whatever type of accommodation you’re looking for, you’ll find a wide variety available from economical to extravagant.
With over 2,800 rooms to surf on their website, its important to be sure that the hotel, inn, B&B you select in in Petoskey or Harbor Springs (their website also includes the towns of Walloon Lake, Boyne City, Alanson, Boyne Falls and Bay Harbor with some that could be a 45 minute to an hour drive from camp).
Stafford’s Perry Hotel
Just a few blocks from camp, this relaxed, 1899 hotel is where Mark Twain stayed among other notable characters over the last century or two. The Perry Hotel, overlooking beautiful Lake Michigan, boasts 75 individually appointed guest rooms, many with views of Little Traverse Bay. While regular efforts are made to preserve the historic beauty and elegance of the property, they also understand the need for modern conveniences. Some have period decor, balconies, bay views and kitchenettes. Breakfast, Sunday brunch and lunch are served in a homey dining room, while a pub offers casual fare for lunch and dinner. Outdoor dining is available in a seasonal rose garden. There's a fitness room, a library and a gift shop, and massage treatments are available for a fee.

Harbor Springs Chamber of Commerce
Nestled along the deepest harbor in the Great lakes lies the charming waterfront community of Harbor Springs. The area offers an abundance of natural beauty, four seasons of outdoor activities and an array of cultural and culinary attractions. The town is charming and filled with stately homes and cottages from the Victorian Era. As with the Petoskey hotel listings, please ensure the properties selected are actually in Harbor Springs or nearby at Boyne Highlands (not Boyne Mountain, which is an hour south with good traffic).

Mackinac Island
We highly recommend a visit to this jewel in the Great Lakes. A National Historic Landmark, the entire Island is filled with beautiful vistas, over 70 miles of hiking, biking and horseback riding trails, Fort Mackinac, a quaint shopping district downtown, horse drawn carriage tours during the day, and an active nightlife with its happening music and bar scene. There are no motor vehicles, this is an Island dedicated to preserving its past as it heads into the future. Transportation is by foot, hoof or bicycle. Visitors can explore the historic Fort Mackinac, and ride up to the highest point on the Island to Fort Holmes. Be sure to try the different varieties of homemade fudge for which the Island is famous. Speaking of famous, Mackinac Island is home to Grand Hotel, where countless presidents have stayed over the years. It boasts the longest summer porch in America and was the set for the movie "Somewhere in Time"

Electric Bikes Users:
Electric bicycle permits must be acquired in addition to the city’s mandatory annual bicycle license. Electric bike permits are free, and annual city bike licenses cost $3.50. To qualify, people must have a medical reason and doctor’s note prescribing the use of an electric bicycle. People must also apply for a Mackinac State Historic Parks permit, which are processed by the city police department. Electric assist bicycles operating on Mackinac Island cannot have motors larger than 750 watts, or one horsepower. The police department will mail packets of information to those who wish to apply but are off the Island. Mackinaw City to Mackinac Island Ferry Schedule
Note: Mighty Mac Departures travel under the Mackinac Bridge on the way to the Island. This trip will take about 25 minutes, and there is no extra charge.

Island Logistics:
- 20 minute drive from Mackinaw City Ferry docks to Cheboygan High School
- Ferry boat ride: Shepler's and Star Line both have fast boats that take about 20 minutes to get to and from the Island each day. Star Line also has a "slow boat" that takes about 45 minutes each way.
- Cost: Round trip tickets to the Island each day will add about $25 per person to your vacation budget, we will have discount coupons for all.
- If you choose to stay at the glorious Grand Hotel, there is a dress code after 6pm, you'll need to bring dress clothes.
- Horses take their time and rest often on the hilly Island. If you decide to take a horse drawn taxi, time cannot be predicted, just know it will take longer.
- The fastest way to get around on Mackinac Island is by bicycle.
- The most convenient places to stay are downtown on Main street and Market Street.
- Mackinac Island is a National Historic Landmark, yes, the entire Island. Steeped in history and luxury, it is a great place to stay.
- Book early, the rooms sell out quickly in July.
