PAW'er DOG WALK

The PAW’er Dog Walk is approximately a 2K walk at the Los Angeles State Historic Park. It is a leisurely walk through the park and ends at the Chinatown Central Plaza, near the Chinatown Gate, Dr. Sun Yat Sen Statue, and other historic and cultural landmarks. Proceeds from the event are donated to local animal rescue organizations.
REGISTRATION: Only the dogs need to register. People may accompany the dog on the walk without registering for the dog walk. Only registered dogs will get a dog T-shirt and Goodie Bag.

NOISES AND FIRECRACKER LIGHTING: Your pet will be exposed to a variety of situations and noises including loud firecrackers during the opening ceremony for the Bike events, small excited children, barking dogs, loud music, people speaking loudly on microphones, and crowds clapping and cheering.
There will NOT be any firecracker lighting during the PAW’er Dog Walk. HOWEVER, for the bike ride events, firecrackers will be set off for the opening ceremony at 7am near the BIKE Start Line. This occurs about 1.5 hours before the start of the PAW’er Dog Walk.
WATER BOWLS: There will be communal water bowls at different locations along the route. You can bring your own portable water bowl for your dog.

RULES FOR PET OWNERS:

Only one dog is allowed per walker.

The person walking the dog must be 18 years or older. While children may walk alongside dogs, no children may hold the leash to the dog during the event. .

Dogs must be well-behaved and non-aggressive around people and other dogs.

Dogs must be on leash at all times, NO EXCEPTIONS. Please bring a leash that is no longer than four (4) feet. No extendable/retractable leashes allowed.

Dogs must be current on all required vaccines.

Please do not bring puppies who have not completed all of their vaccinations.

Please set a good example and pick up after your pet. Extra poop bags, as well as trash cans, will be available.

Carbo-Load and beer are for human participants only.

If you have a pet breed that may not be able to handle this level of activity (2K or 1.6 miles), please consider not registering for this event but enjoy the other Firecracker festivities with your dog.

There may be many large dogs at the walk. If you have a small dog, consider carrying your dog or bring a pet stroller to keep your dog safe/comfortable.
Note to Parents: Sometimes the most well-behaved pets can be startled and react in an unexpected manner. Please remind children to be respectful and refrain from petting any dog without the owner's permission. Kindly note that any and all dog interactions are done at your own discretion and risk. Firecracker is not responsible or liable for any dog related incidents.
