Volunteers will set up a refreshment table at the finish line for runners.

Photographer Medium Priority

Photographers will move throughout the racecourse, capturing action shots and candids of the runners.

Half Marathon Bike Leader High Priority

September 20, 2025

Details

The bike leader is responsible for following the first race participant. The leader will provide assistance navigating the course (if necessary) and will notify the Race Director that the first runner has crossed the Chapin Pit. Note: The volunteer must be able to ride their bike at least 13.1 miles on paved and dirt paths, up/down hills.

Half Marathon Bike Sweeper High Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

The bike sweeper is responsible for following the last race participant. The sweeper will notify volunteers as they pass that they may clean up their station and leave the course. Note: the sweeper must be able to ride their bike at least 13.1 miles on paved and dirt paths, up/down hills.

10K Bike Leader High Priority

Details

The bike leader is responsible for following the first race participant. The leader will provide assistance navigating the course (if necessary) and will notify the Race Director that the first runner has crossed the Chapin Pit. Note: The volunteer must be able to ride their bike at least 6.2 miles on paved roads, up/down hills.

Road Intersection Safety Volunteer High Priority

Details

Volunteers will arrive at their assigned intersection and direct runners to stay on the course. Once one of the bike sweepers indicates that all runners have passed, volunteers may leave.

Handout Half Marathon/Relay Finisher Medals Medium Priority

Details

Volunteers will hand out finisher medals to all half marathon and relay participants as they cross the finish line.

Location

The finish line is located in front of the library in downtown Iron Mountain.

Age Group Award Medals/Ceremony Medium Priority

September 20, 2025

Details

Volunteers will hand out medals to the top finishers in each age bracket for the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Half Marathon Relay as well as overall award winners.

Location

The finish line is located in front of the library in downtown Iron Mountain.

Timing Printout High Priority

September 20, 2025

Details

Volunteers will provide a printout of race results to each participant as they cross the finish line. Volunteers may also act as backup timers and record bib numbers as they cross the finish line.

Clean-up Crew High Priority

September 20, 2025

Details

Volunteers will clean up water stations, mile markers, and course barriers at the completion of the race. Note: You will need to be able to pick up and/or carry folding tables, pop-up tents, barriers, etc.
