Friday Set-Up

Friday Setup at Nichols Hills Plaza

Details

Friday volunteers will primarily help load the truck(s) will all needed supplies for Saturday and Sunday events. This will be a labor intensive position that will require the volunteers to be able to lift and maneuver.

Saturday Bike Event

Saturday Bike Course Marshal

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Bike Course Marshals help keep cyclists on the correct route. You may also assist with placing signage in your area. We recommend bringing a chair and water to drink. Cheering on the participants is always encouraged! A Redbud board member will be in contact in advance with details. There will also be a course marshal meeting before the event.

If you would like to sign up to volunteer with someone else that is signing up, please add their name to the "Note to Race" space as your are registering and we will do our best to have you together.

Location

You will be assigned an intersection on the route and drive your personal vehicle to that intersection on the morning of the bike event.

Saturday Bike Start/Finish Line

Details

Volunteers for this event may help distribute medals, load and unload race supplies and stock the food and water tables. The 7AM Slot will be the Start Line Sign Holders. These volunteers stand at the start line holding mounting signs instructing participants to line up according to event. The 50 mile should stand at start, then the 30 mile sign and the 10 mile sign is at the back. Leave plenty of space between each sign for participants to line up accordingly. Once the riders have all started the ride, these volunteers will begin passing out medals to the finishers. After all cyclists have left start line, volunteers should stand at finish line to hand out participant medals. As participants arrive, dispense medals while congratulating the cyclists! They must show their participant number to receive their medal. Please do not give a medal to anyone without a number.

The 10AM group will take over the duty of passing out medals to all finishers.

Saturday Bike Parking/Traffic

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Waterford parking attendants will help direct participants/volunteers/spectators to the correct parking area.

Please check in to the Redbud Volunteer Tent first. Volunteers will receive vests and their location placements.

Saturday SAG Drivers

Saturday Ride SAG Drivers (Password Protected)

You must be 21 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Join us as a SAG (Support and Gear) driver volunteer for our upcoming Redbud cycling event! As a SAG driver, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and support of participants.

• You will meet at an assigned rest area (you will receive more details on your assigned area closer to the event) to begin driving the course during the event.
• You will drive your personal vehicle to cover your assigned area of the course (approximately a 10-to-15-mile segment) until the last rider has passed your area.
• You will provide on-the-spot assistance for mechanical bike problems, including flat tire repairs.
• You will offer bike transportation for those in need, and need to be able to pick up bikes that need a lift.

Sunday Kids Event & Woof Walk

These volunteers will help set-up the Kids' event area, direct participants to the start line area, help with the start line, and then help distribute completion medals. They will then help teardown any Kids' Event signage

Sunday Woof Walk Volunteer

Details

These volunteers will help set-up the Woof Walk area, direct participants to the Woof Walk start line, help with the start line, and then help distribute completion swag. They will then help teardown the Woof Walk signage.

Sunday Kids' Fun Run & Woof Walk Course Marshal

Course Marshal volunteers will help runners stay on course. Cheering is encouraged! Course marshal volunteers are positioned at various locations along the route to point participants in the correct direction of the course. It is very important that all course marshals stay in position until the last runner (who will be followed by a police car) passes. Please give encouragement and congratulations to each runner as you direct them along the course. A Redbud board member will be in contact with you to provide more details. There will also be a Run Course Marshal meeting before the day of the event.

Course Marshal volunteers will help runners stay on course. Cheering is encouraged! Course marshal volunteers are positioned at various locations along the route to point participants in the correct direction of the course. It is very important that all course marshals stay in position until the last runner (who will be followed by a police car) passes. Please give encouragement and congratulations to each runner as you direct them along the course. The streets close at 1:00PM so there is no driving on the course until the end of the race. A Redbud board member will be in contact with you to provide more details. There will also be a Run Course Marshal meeting before the day of the event.

Sunday Run BASH Area Setup

Parking/Traffic attendants will help place parking barricades and direct participants to the correct parking area. You will be assigned a specific spot (Nichols Hills Plaza and/or Chesapeake Energy parking lot) by the Parking/Traffic Coordinator.

Sunday Run Start Line

Details

The start line volunteers will help set-up the start line for the 5k, 10k, and 2 mile / stroller run. They will then help direct people to their correct starting point. Two people will be assigned to the stroller derby decorating competition and pick a winner to announce at the start of the 2 mile walk. Cheering is encouraged!
