Description

130 miles of singletrack, gravel & pavement...Point to Point!

This ride is a benefit of Club Spinistry membership. Early bird entry until 9/26 is free for current Club Spinistry members. Non members will receive a coupon code worth $75 towards a 12 month Club Spinistry membership. Coupon must be redeemed within 7 days. Please be aware that a $10 land use fee is required to use the trail at 4R Ranch. On site camping is available as well. Links will be included in the confirmation email once you signup.

Every possible bike/tire combination will be completely inappropriate at different points along the way. The route will feature 3 different trails and each trail is completely different from the others. Estimates are 25% of the route is singletrack, 30-35% is gravel, the rest is pavement from extremely rough/patchy to super smooth with a few miles of paved trail in the mix too.

This is a Challenge, not a race. It is about personal achievement and accomplishment. Finishing is the goal and definitely something to brag about. Sub 12 hour performance deserves special recognition.

The route begins at 4R Ranch Vineyards and Winery and finishes at Northshore Trail in Flower Mound, TX. Everything in between will be provided to registered riders prior to the event. It is considered an all weather ride but trails/trail segments may be excluded due to conditions. This will be 100% self navigated (no directional arrows) so make sure your GPS/navigation skills and equipment are current. Make sure to turn off auto reroute on your devices.

No bike or gear changes allowed! Every bike will be the wrong bike somewhere along the route. That's kinda the point. Outside/team support is allowed at designated points only. We do not want support vehicles on the route with riders. No drafting of support vehicles is allowed. The main "rule" is don't be a dick. If you want to justify a dickish move by claiming there is no "rule" against it this really isn't the right challenge for you.

Point to poiint...how do I get there or get back to my vehicle? The short answer is get creative. We are not a shuttle service. Recruit friends or family members to drop you off/pick you up. Ride your bike to the start the night before (there is camping available). Put together a team with a support vehicle and do the #vanlife thing. There's probably a gazillion other ways to skin that cat as well. Expand your comfort zone a try something different. You're gonna have stories to tell for years.

Shorter Options (8am Start): There are some suggested abbreviated options for those who aren't quite ready for the full challenge. Option A excludes all of the mountain bike trail for 100 miles of point to point mixed surface riding. Option B is for those who still want some singletrack action but aren't ready for a 130 mile day. This will include the first two trails for total mileage of about 80 miles. It will finish in Denton County.

Bikepacking Meetup: 4R Ranch Vineyards and Winery makes for fantastic bikepacking destination and hub. Want to learn about bikepacking and hang out with folks who might be able to teach you a few things? Drive up Friday, camp  and socialize Friday night. We'll have an early morning bikepacking roundtable on Saturday morning for folks not attempting the full challenge. You can also take the day Friday to ride up to 4R, overnight with the crew and then follow the All or Nothing route back to DFW. Whatever works for you!

More soon.

A $10 land use fee is required to ride the trails at 4R Ranch Vineyards & Winery. You can make those arrangements online here: https://www.exploretock.com/4rwines/experience/169868/brambles-bike-trail-all-day-pass?date=2024-08-20&size=2&time=10%3A00
