PBS Run to Remember

Race Day Registration begins at 6:00AM on Saturday, June 7th in front of Abney Athletic Center on the campus of Anderson University. Signs will direct you for parking and registration. 

This event is being brought to you by Friends of Boys State (FOBS), Anderson University, and local sponsors in an effort to support scholarships for Palmetto Boys State, the premier leadership program in the nation.

The run will take place on the roads of Anderson University and the surrounding neighborhoods on Saturday morning, June 7th, 2025. 

Our event began in June 2012 following the passing of our friend and fellow Boys State staff member, Dave Hortman. Dave served our Country in so many ways and was one of the Army's most distinguished elite helicopter pilots. A decorated U.S. Army Captain, Dave challenged others to live life to the fullest, to be physically fit, and to find ways to support the leadership program that he loved and served, Palmetto Boys State. Dave's legacy continues to inspire us today.

You are invited to join in the effort to support Palmetto Boys State! Event prizes will be awarded for both Male and Female participants in many age groups as well as a Team Award for the Largest Group affiliation. Also, as is our tradition, a performance T-Shirt will be included with your run registration.
