The Rumble at the Ranch course is a 7.6 mile loop that covers a mix of beginner to intermediate singletrack trails as well as some double-track sections to allow for easy passing. Total elevation gain per lap is 658 feet. Lap start, finish, exchange zone, and team camps are located in the Mountain Vista High School parking lot. The opening 300 yards and ending 150 yards are on paved surfaces. 65 percent of the course is super-fun beginner and intermediate level single track trails. The remaining 35 percent of the course is double track for easy passing.

FYI: The single track sections of the course are within the HRCA Backcountry Wilderness Area. Use of the trails within the Backcountry Wilderness Area is restricted to HRCA members only. If you would like to get some ride-time in on those trails prior to race day, I would recommend registering for one or more of the HRCA Mountain Bike Series events this summer. Three of the four series events take place on the same trails (not the exact same route) that the Rumble at the Ranch uses. The HRCA MTB Series events are held on four Wednesday evenings in July and August.
