Awards Ceremony
All 5K runners MUST stay on the mountain until the event is over. This is a safety precaution and no exceptions are made. The event is over by 10:00 am and at that time, runners can ride the bus or go down with a companion who has entered the park prior to 7:30 am. Cyclists can ride down the mountain, but they MUST follow the Park Ranger vehicles.
Family and friends of all race participants can enter the park and drive to the finish line at the Rock free of charge if entering before 7:30 am.
All participants of the Race to the Rock are invited for a Hot Dog Roast immediately following the race at the base of the Rock in Chimney Rock State Park. Let’s celebrate!
Race participants can visit Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park free of charge anytime after the race on Sunday by showing their race bib at the Ticket Plaza.
Need to rent a bike? Look to Puzzle Creek located in Forest City, NC for your cycling needs. They are a partner of the Lake Lure Olympiad and available to assist you for preparing to participate in the competitive events throughout the weekend.
