5000 Miles 5000 Mustangs - Mustang Discovery Ride Across America

Join us as we travel across America with our Mustang Horses riding 5000 miles to bring awareness to the 50,000+ American Mustangs in BLM holding pens across the United States riding to inspire the adoption of 5000+ Mustangs. Riders can join the Mustang Discovery Ride Across America for a week or more! You can have your friends and family sponsor your ride of a suggested amount of $1 or more per mile you will help the Mustang Discovery Foundation achieve its goal of bringing awareness to the plight of the American Mustang Horses and the Mustang Discovery Foundation's mission. We are riding between 10 - 20 miles per day.

Your $100 entry fee (NON-REUNDABLE) covers registration only and an additional pledge of $250 min will be required from each rider as a tax-deductible Mustang Discovery Foundation 501c3 donation (suggested pledge amount of $1 per mile for your pledges). We will be setting up prizes for the top 10 pledge amounts ant the end of the ride. All pledges will be set-up on the rides 5000 Miles 5000 Mustangs - Mustang Discovery Ride Across America, RunSignUp.org race page.

We will start with our guest Mustang adventure riders on March 21, 2022, at Hocking College in Ohio: 3301 Hocking Pkwy., Nelsonville, Ohio 45764 and head West to the California coast in November!

You can join us anywhere on the route. We ask that you plan for at least a one-week commitment. You will be required to have your own mount, does not have to be a Mustang. You and your mount must be able to do overnight trail camping trips and behave in a way to ride along well with others. You will be camping overnight on the ride in many different locations (from fields to campgrounds) and responsible for your own camping gear, horse and food for you and your equine companion. We reserve the right to remove any riders and their horses who cannot behave and listen to the Mustang Discovery Ride Team leader.

This is the basic Mustang Discovery Trail Map that we will be following as close as possible, with some detours around areas not set up for horses. The Green horses are "Meet the Mustangs" Events along the way and more will be added as the MDT team moves west. The RED horses designate the towns along the American Discovery Trail we will be following.
