Spectators
Spectators are allowed at the Start and Finish Lines only. Spectators are not allowed to park along the route. State Police will be policing the route and asking motorists standing or parking along the route to please move.
The best and ONLY way to see your rider on course is to volunteer! Find a slot that would allow you to see them off in the morning, work a few hours, and then catch the shuttle to the finish to see them finish! (Marshaling or working at the finish line often works the best!) You can find all the volunteering opportunities on the left hand side under Volunteer.

FROM BLACKSBURG:
The Recreation Center is approximately nine (9) miles from the center of Blacksburg, VA.
Head west on US-460. Turn right onto VA-42 at Newport.
Follow VA-42 east through the center of Newport, and as you are heading out of Newport, the Newport Recreation Center will be on your right (approximately 0.8 mi from 460.
The Newport Recreation Center (former Newport High School) is a large brick building.
FROM GILES COUNTY:
The Rec. Center is approximately ten (10) miles from the center of Pembroke, VA.
Head east on US-460. Turn left onto VA-42 at Newport.
Follow VA-42 east through the center of Newport, and as you are heading out of Newport, the Newport Recreation Center will be on your right (approximately 0.8 mi from 460.
The Newport Recreation Center (former Newport High School) is a large brick building.
Parking:
All parking is available at the Newport Rec Center: 434 Blue Grass Trail, Newport, VA
If you plan to watch the start of the event- Plan to arrive no later than 630am. By 645am, we are starting to shut down the roads to being the ride.
There is no event parking at the finish area at Mountain Lake. Please take the shuttle up to watch the finish and back down to the Recreation Center. If riders, families, or spectators are caught parking at the finish the rider is in jeopardy of not getting a posted finish time.
Shuttle Service:
From Newport to Mountain Lake: Begins at 10:30 a.m., continuing every 20 minutes as needed.
From Mountain Lake to Newport: Begins at 11 a.m., continuing every 20 minutes as needed.
