BikeAround Downtown Columbia

Despite what the title says, this is not a race. It's a chance to hop on your bike and enjoy a relaxing ride along the trails, pathways, and bike lanes of Downtown Columbia, Wilde Lake, and Harper’s Choice.
 
Join us as we celebrate BikeAround Downtown Columbia weekend with a Block Party on Saturday, May 31st in the Merriweather District from 9-12. You can ride the course to or from the Block Party or bring your bikes and ride to and from. 

At the Block Party, The Downtown Columbia Partnership, the Howard County Office of Transportation, Bike HoCo, and more will be on hand to help you make cycling a bigger part of your transportation, fitness, and recreation routine. Register in advance and check-in on site to get your BikeAround shirt (if you selected to purchase one).

Timing: There is no group start time for BikeAround. The official timing for the event is 9:00 AM to noon on Saturday, May 31.
 
The Course: The course starts and ends in Color Burst Park. Thanks to the Columbia Association’s Open Space team, the path will be marked so you should not need to refer to the turn-by-turn directions.

New this year, the Howard County Police Department’s Community Outreach & Pathways Section (C.O.P.S.) will be leading group rides at 9:30AM and 11:00AM. This is a great chance for younger and less experienced riders to enjoy the course with seasoned cyclists as guides.
