Description
The 3rd Annual Batacular mountain bike race is coming up quickly - Sunday Oct 27 at 10 am. Race starts and ends at 220 Milestone Rd, at the Milestone Cranberry Bogs
Race through the Nantucket Conservation Foundation's beautiful trails in the Middle Moors for a single loop (8.3 miles) or a double loop (16.6 miles) to raise funds for NCF trail maintenance and increase awareness for our open spaces across the island!
We recommend a mountain bike or fat tire bike for most, but gravel or cyclocross bikes would work for experienced riders too. Helmets are required!
One loop generally takes anywhere from 35 mins for the fastest riders to 60 mins for those traveling at a more leisurely pace!
The course consists of sandy dirt roads through the Moors, some single track trails, and a few short technical sections with rocks, roots and scrub oak obstacles for extra fun! something for everyone!
Costumes are encouraged!
There will be an aid station at Altar Rock (approximately mid-way through the course) with water and Halloween candy for an energy boost. Please bring your own water bottles and any favorite energy drinks.
Stick around afterwards for the family friendly Fall Festival and enjoy snacks, food trucks, and fun!
