This year will be better than ever with new features, incentives, an AFTERPARTY, & more! 

 

This year’s race falls just 2 days before St. Patrick’s Day—what a fantastic way to kick off your celebrations in your favorite green outfit! With UW students enjoying a later spring break, you’ll have even more time to join in the fun.

Events: Timed 10K, Timed 5K, Untimed 5K Walk, Untimed 10K Bike Ride

The Madison Shamrock Shuffle is a beloved local tradition, marking the first major race event of the year. Regardless of the weather, thousands of participants dress up in their St. Paddy’s best to run, walk, and shuffle their way through this festive event.

NEW to 2025:

  • A 10K Bike ride to the event line up
  • AFTERPARTY! In order to attend the afterparty you must donate OR fundraise $100.
  • There is now a "Become a Fundraiser" option in the registration form! We make it easy to raise funds for BGCDC. 
  • Lastly, we've added a referral program! If you get 5 people to register, YOUR REGISTRATION FEE IS REFUNDED! 

WHY WE RUN

Your participation supports the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County, which provide essential programs for youth aged 6 weeks to 24. Funds raised will help continue and expand programming for Pre-School, After-School, In-School, and the McKenzie Regional Workforce Center. To date, this event has contributed over $500,000 to these vital programs!

AGE GROUPS

The top male and female in the following age groups will receive medals for the 10K and 5K Timed Runs.  
Please attend the Award Ceremony following the race around 9:30 a.m. to receive your medals.
1-14 / 15-19 / 20-24 / 25-29 / 30-34 / 35-39 / 40-44 / 45-49 / 50-59 / 60-69 / 70-79 / 80+

WEATHER POLICY

Please dress appropriately for the weather. If it is cold we recommend using feet and hand warmers.

The Shamrock Shuffle will happen rain, snow, or shine. If the conditions make the event unsafe, the race will be canceled. Social media accounts (Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook) for Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County will be the fastest location of race status information on race day. You will also receive an email through RunSignUp if the event is canceled. Due to the many associated costs of planning an event of this size, refunds will not be provided in the event of a weather cancellation.

About The Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County

Proceeds from this event will benefit Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County. By participating, you will impact the lives of youth and their families in our community by giving them needed resources and programming to help build better futures. Since the inception of this event, nearly $500,000 has been raised to support Dane County youth.  

Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County’s mission is to inspire and empower all young people, especially those who need us the most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring adults. In 2022, over 3,000 youth and families were supported through education & career development, health & wellness, character & leadership, sports & recreation, and family engagement enrichment programming. We are proud to continue this work with your support.
