Cycling Technique Training for the Developing Triathlete

Description

Training with Tom offers several training programs geared towards beginner and developing triathlete. Tom's Pool School focuses on improving your swim stroke technique and efficiency. PS1 includes underwater filming of your swim stroke. All Pool School classes are limited to 9 swimmers. Every class has sold out for the past 14 years!

Tom's Pool School 

Pool School One (PS1)

PS101 is a 3-hour class that begins with filming you underwater. Then, we review your stroke and contain our laughter as much as possible. Next, we are in the water, learning TWO of Tom’s “Four Tenants of Swimming,“ LENGTH and BALANCE. You WILL leave PS101 a more EFFICIENT and BALANCED swimmer with “drills” to integrate into your workouts.

Pool School Two (PS2)

PS2 Includes

  • Review of Pool School One "Length & Balance" drills.
  • Reviewing, retraining, and refreshing your “Length and Balance” drills. Learning the final two components of the swim stroke, "Anchoring and Finishing."
  • Learning how to incorporate *fins, paddles, pull buoys, and tennis balls into your workouts with my "Bands & Buoys" swimming and "Deep Water Kicking!

*PS2 requires swim fins. You DO NOT need new fins! The ones you have will be fine. If you need fins, I recommend: Aqua Sphere Fins. If you have paddles and/or a pull buoy, bring them. If not, no problem. 

How You Benefit from PS2!

  • You will have learned all four tenants of Pool School: Length, Balance, Anchoring and Finishing. NOTE: Nearly 70% of your power comes from "Anchoring and Finishing!"
  • You will be able to create workouts with "beneficial variety" due to using tennis balls, "Bands & Buoys" and fins!
  • The time and distance of workouts to achieve maximum benefit will likely be REDUCED due to greater efficiency!

Tom's Cyclingl School 

Tom’s Cycling School is a 2.5-3-hour cycling technique class.

The class begins with a video recording, and review, of your riding form. Then we hit the streets to implement specific form adjustments, improving your performance.

Tom’s Cycling School is limited to SIX cyclists per class.

Please do not be intimidated! Everyone in the class is looking to become a better cyclist! After class, if you don’t immediately call your friends to tell them you’re a BAD A** on the bike, you left your phone at home.
