Description
We are so stoked to say that Thursday Night Race League is still happening! Whitefish Mountain Resort is the place to ride a bike on Thursday nights again this summer for sure!
That being said we do have some new pandemic precaution's in place now- The State of Montana has extended group gatherings to 50 people, so we are limiting each race to 40 racers. Therefore we are also asking that you please limit bringing friends and family members to the race with you in an effort to not go over the maximum number of people allowed by the Flathead County Health Dept.
Online registration opens each week on Monday at 8am and closes at 5:00pm on race day. With only 40 spot available, this will help ensure those who register have the time to race that week. (Think about what Reserve America to Camp Reservations...)
There will be no food this year, but our sponsors are coming on with great raffles and prizes.
***Other Changes for this year: Unfortunately, there will be No kids race, but we will still give out Otter Pops! Online registration is Mandatory, and there will be an augmented/abbreviated raffle/awards ceremony.
RACE FORMAT
In previous summers we have had 70-80 racers sign up! Sadly with having to cut that number in half, the earliest we will start excepting sign ups online will be the Monday before each race. This way if you do sign up, you hopefully know for sure that you will be able to make it and therefore we will have fewer no sho's! For that same reason, we will also not be offering the season pass's this summer.
Location - All races start, finish, registration and check in are all at the Village Trail head.
XC Races – 7pm Race Start.
Different categories race anywhere from 1-4 laps depending on the course.
Racers will have a staggered start with about a 3 minute interval with Expert going first, Sport going second and Beginners going third.
Must check in / Register before 6:30 each race day.
Week 1&2 will offer a course just under 3 miles in length with about 700 vertical feet.
Week 3 is a race course just over 4 miles with 900ft elevation gain.
Week 4 is a hill climb, with beginners climbing ~300' in 3 miles, Sport ~1000' in 5 miles, and Expert 1800' in 8 miles plus the descent. Fun!

FAQs
When should I arrive? You need to have registered or checked in to get your race plate/timing chip and allow the race organizers to be prepared for a 7pm start. To be clear, this does not mean you arrive at 7pm. That includes parking, walking up to the check in window, etc. So arriving at or before 6:30pm is mandatory!
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? There is no age minimum for the XC race, but we do ask for parental supervision if needed.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? There is a bit of construction in the Village Area. We recommend parking in the upper two lots (Alder/Village Parking as well as Birch Lot which is below the Bierstube) VILLAGE MAP
What can I bring into the event? Ideally, just you and your bike. With the Covid precautions, we need to limit the amount of people gathering in one space. We are racers only this year.
What about Bathrooms? There are bathrooms at the Hellroaring Saloon, Village Restrooms located below Ed and Mully’s at the top of the Boardwalk as well as the restrooms near the bottom of Chair 2. VILLAGE MAP
What about dogs? Dogs are welcome, but they must remain on a leash and be supervised at all times. They do not count for Covid.
