Join Trailnet and Seed St. Louis for a ramble through the community gardens of St. Louis. This ride will highlight the food growing within our urban landscape. Bike through the West End, Forest Park, and Skinker Debaliviere with stops at a few of the more than 250 community gardens supported by Seed St. Louis. Garden leaders or Seed St. Louis representatives will be present at each stop to give garden tours, answer questions, and share snacks.
This guided group bike ride takes place on city streets, at a slow pace for people of all comfort levels.
About Seed St. Louis
Since 1984, Seed St. Louis has connected people to the land, to their food, and to each other. They are a 501c3 nonprofit that supports a network of over 250 community gardens, school gardens, and urban orchards in neighborhoods throughout the St. Louis region. Seed STL’s purpose is to provide communities with the tools, education, and empowerment to grow their own food.
About Trailnet Community Rides
Trailnet Community Rides are guided, slow-paced, group bike rides that explore the history and culture of the St. Louis Community.
Community Rides generally last around 3 hours. There are no staffed rest stops on these rides, and we cannot guarantee access to restrooms or water. Please plan accordingly.
Community Rides registration is capped at 75 participants. A smaller group allows us to safely manage riders on open city streets; ensures our docents/guides can effectively deliver information; and guarantees that local stops (museums, churches, businesses, etc…) won’t be overwhelmed when we roll up.
