Description
The Keweenaw Chain Drive Festival is back as a Poker Run in 2024! For riders, there will be the option of a short, long, and adventure route. New this year, the short and long courses are open for runners to sign up as well! Each route will have multiple poker chip stations at random locations. Riders and runners will collect a chip from each location and submit them to find out their poker hand. The best poker hand will win various prize packages! The ride is free to enter. If you would like to make a donation to the trails, you can do so during the registration process or at any time by clicking the Donation button at the top of this page. All proceeds from the donations will go to supporting the Maasto Hiihto/Churning Rapids and Swedetown trails.
Some new additions this year will be starting line coffee from Keweenaw Coffee Works and Start/Finish Line Aid sponsored by Fresh Coast Yoga.
Please note that this year's event is self-supported. There may be pop-up aid stations. Locations and provisions are unknown. Riders and runners will need to be able to navigate the course on their own. The Short and Long Course will be marked, but GPS or phone to view/navigate routes is highly recommended. Also, please note that the time slots are meant to spread out the start and minimize congestion at the Poker Chip stations. They do not designate which distance you're riding or running.
Categories for prizes will be the top 5 in each category (Men's, Women's and Under 18)
All riders and runners are welcome!
Early Bird Drawing
Register by 11:59 PM on April 21st to take part in the Early Bird drawing. One winner will be chosen from each of the three course distances and will receive a $25 gift certificate from a local bike shop!
Course Maps
Routes for the Short and Long Courses have been released! Please note these may be subject to minor changes. As we near the day of the event all files will be finalized.
Registration and Race Time Slots
Like last year, we will not have a mass start. Riders select their preferred time slot and can start anytime within that window. There is one time slot for runners and two time slots to choose from for mountain bikers, and each one has 100 spots available. The timeslots give everyone a chance to go out on their own time and at their own pace. It also helps to avoid bottlenecks on some of the early climbs and helps long lines at the Poker Chip stations. Choose the time slot that works best for you and enjoy a day of riding in the Keweenaw!
