Description

Motown Sans Motor - The LARGEST bike ride in the state! 

 

Join us on Saturday, September 14th, 2024 as we head to the streets and ride some of the city's historic areas, explore street art projects and take in its fabulous architecture.  The ride provides bicyclists a unique opportunity ride the streets of Detroit in the State's largest bike ride. Lunch, Beer/Wine (21+), and Faygo are provided after the ride along with a celebratory party. 

 

Tour de Troit MAIN RIDE is a leisurely ride of approximately 25.6 miles with police escort; sweeper- and SAG-support, Medic Support, and one rest stop that includes a snack and mechanical support. The main ride will take off at 9 a.m. Open to ages 12+. You will be assigned Bib Numbers in 2 colors and will need to line up according to your color.

 

Tour de Troit METRIC CENTURY ride is 62 Miles of self-guided fun with support along the way and 2 rest stops. Staggered ride starts beginning at 7:15AM for 12-15 mph, 7:45 for 15-17 mph and 8:15 for 20-22 mph. Open to ages 16+. 

 

The ride includes a food/beverage and rest stop snack coupon, and a riding bib. Helmets are mandatory for all Tour de Troit rides.

 

The site will open at 7 AM for on-site packet pick-up and morning hospitality. 

 

The Tour de Troit START and FINISH will be held at RIVERSIDE PARK. 3085 West Jefferson Ave, Detroit 48216

Saturday, September 14th,  7:00 AM to 8:30 AM 

ADDITIONAL REMINDERS

  • Lunch, Beer & Wine (for over 21), and Faygo provided after the ride.
  • Full ride details will be sent to registered riders the week of the event via email
  • This is a HELMET MANDATORY ride
  • THE MAIN RIDE STARTS AT 9 AM. You may been to line up in your assigned chutes at 8:30 AM
  • THE METRIC RIDE has 3 staggered start times based on your mph.  7:15 am is 12-15 mph pace. 7:45 is 15-17 mph. 8:15 is 20-22 mph pace. 
  • Course maps will not be posted online, they will be available at packet pickup. 
  • TYPE 3 E-Bikes (w Throttle) are Not allowed for this event. The TDT is a leisurely ride of 8-12 MPH on city streets.  The speed  capabilities of the Type 3  E-bike within this ride leads to an unsafe and unmanageable ride situation for both participants and the Police.  They are also not in alignment with the mission of the organization or the intent of the ride.  If you have any questions on this, please email info@tour-de-troit.org.  If you require an Electric-Assist Bike, please contact us at info@tour-de-troit.org.
  • Be sure to bring a FILLED water bottle.  We will also be providing water at the rest stop and finish of the ride.

PLEASE NOTE: There will be No Parking Available in the Park or along West Jefferson adjacent to Park.

AFTER-RIDE

As always, all participants will be served lunch, beer, wine, and Faygo products after the ride. This year you have your choice of pizza and subs from Gonellas and salads from Organaman. Vegan and Vegetarian options available.
