Description

Ride Santa Barbara returns for its 14th year!

RideSB100 offers four distinct courses to suit a range of cycling abilities – each course offering a world-class Santa Barbara cycling experience! 🚵🏻‍♂️

All courses start along the beach and follow the beautiful Santa Barbara beachfront before turning inland to experience all Santa Barbara has to offer. Cyclists will wind through some of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the country; experience the rolling foothills lined with citrus and avocado orchards and climb some of the most famous mountains in the country, all while experiencing some of the most beautiful views in southern California.

 

All cyclists will receive:

  • Official 2025 RideSB100 t-shirt
  • Official 2025 RideSB100 water bottle
  • Official RideSB100 musette bag with sponsor goodies
  • Fully supported aid stations
  • Mechanical support
  • Finish Line Festival with lots of food and beer
  • All Gibraltar Challenge finishers will receive a coin at the top of the hill.
  • Age group medals for Gibraltar Challenge
  • Option to buy event Jersey $99; Bib Shorts $99

All riders will receive an overall chip time and riders who participate in the Gibraltar Challenge will be ranked for the King and Queen of the Mountain (KOM/QOM) Jersey awards!

100 mile

  • Over 9,700′ of climbing | Start Time: 7:00 AM
  • Recommended for experienced cyclists only 
  • Tackle a challenging ride that begins at Chase Palm Park, rolls through Carpinteria, and continues into the scenic Lake Casitas region. Climb Toro Canyon and Ladera Lane before testing your legs on the Gibraltar Climb Challenge, a timed 6.1-mile ascent with an 8% grade and over 2,500 ft of elevation gain. Descend, then join the 100KM Coastal Route along Cathedral Oaks through Isla Vista and past UCSB, finishing back at Chase Palm Park.
  • Includes a timed hill climb segment up the famous Gibraltar Road  – with a KOM/QOM jersey awarded to the 1st place winners in each age group!

100 KM + Climb 

  • Over 6,600 ft. of climbing | Start Time: 7:30 AM
  • Recommended for experienced cyclists only 
  • Covering 64 miles of Santa Barbara’s most stunning terrain, this route begins at Chase Palm Park and heads south along the coast to Carpinteria. Tackle the Toro Canyon Climb (5.3% grade) and the steep Ladera Lane (10.9% grade), then test your mettle on the Gibraltar Climb: a 6.1-mile ascent with an 8% grade and a 2,551 ft elevation gain. After summiting Gibraltar, descend via the technical Painted Cave route, continue west along Riberia Drive through the serene Hope Ranch community, and return to a well-earned finish at Chase Palm Park.
  • Includes a timed hill climb segment up the famous Gibraltar Road  – with a KOM/QOM jersey awarded to the 1st place winners in each age group!

100 KM Coastal Route 

  • 4,000 ft. of climbing | Start Time: 7:30 AM
  • Recommended for intermediate to experienced cyclists only
  • Covering 64 miles of Santa Barbara’s finest scenery, this route begins at Chase Palm Park and heads south along the coast to Carpinteria. Challenge yourself on the Toro Canyon Climb (5.3% grade) and steep Ladera Lane (10.9% grade), then descend toward the historic Old Mission Santa Barbara. From there, ride west through Isla Vista, take in breathtaking coastal views at Goleta Beach, pass the University of California, Santa Barbara, and finish back at Chase Palm Park.

34 miles 

  • Over 2,200 ft. of climbing | Start Time: 8:30 AM
  • Beginner to intermediate level cyclists 
  • Enjoy a stunning start along the coastline from Chase Palm Park before heading inland to San Ysidro Road. Tackle a gentle ascent on Mountain Drive (max 5.1% grade), then roll past the historic Old Mission Santa Barbara. Continue west along Riberia Drive through the serene Hope Ranch community and finish back at Chase Palm Park. Perfect for those seeking Santa Barbara’s natural charm with just the right amount of challenge.

The mission of MOVE is to advocate for equitable county-wide infrastructure for walking, bicycling, and public transit and to empower and educate communities to choose active and sustainable forms of transportation.

All entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE, no exceptions. Once we receive and accept your entry, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate. You may do a one-time entry transfer to another event, person or year for $15.
