Aspen Ride for Independence

Welcome to the Aspen Ride for Independence, benefitting Craig Hospital! Get ready for a breathtaking ride through of one of the most iconic mountain passes in the United States. This bike ride will take you from the outskirts of Aspen all the way to the majestic summit of Independence Pass, riding one of the most scenic roads in North America.

The out and back course begins at 110 Difficult Lane, one of the most beautiful locations in the greater Aspen area.  The climb is 15.8 miles and has 3,982 ft elevation gain to the top of Independence Pass, located on the continental divide at a total elevation of 12,095 feet (3,687 meters).  Riders will then descend back to the starting location for fun, food, inspiration, and celebration.  The total route is 36.1 miles.
