The Smoky Mountain Wheelmen provide cycling-related educational opportunities, information and materials on cycling to club members, our community, to local bike clubs and shops, and to government officials. We participate in local bike planning activities; facilitate touring and all forms of recreational cycling activities. We represent the interests and rights of local cyclists, encouraging the allocation of facilities for cycling on public lands, encouraging all cyclists to observe and obey all traffic regulations, and recognition of the bicycle as a vehicle used for recreation, health, and economical transportation. The Smoky Mountain Wheelmen Bike Club is affiliated with the League of American Bicyclists.
Our mission is to make available to cyclists of all abilities, the opportunity to participate in appropriate year round cycling activities.
The Smoky Mountain Wheelmen Bike Club was established in 1973 as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) Organization to promote and encourage cycling in all its phases. Today we remain deeply committed to our original mission and encourage East Tennessee Bicyclist to Join Us!
