Place
The 25 mile route will have intermediate rolling hills in the countryside. But if you are doing the 50 or even 100 mile ride, expect challenging hills on DEAD HORSE HILL ROAD, the rolling hills from Orleans to French Lick, Devil's Backbone, and by the historic (some say haunted) Tunnelton Tunnel. You'll experience great roads, fantastic scenery, and a friendly Amish community.
All of these rides shows you some of the best southern Indiana scenery and challenges
We do have a Rain Date of May 6th, 2017, so there will be no refunds if the ride is cancelled on April 22nd.
Description
So, what could make a springtime festival in southern Indiana even better? BICYCLING! What better way to say "Hello" to spring than with a bike ride.
The DOGWOOD PEDAL is a great cycling event for riders of all levels to enjoy. Registration includes lunch and some great snacks at the SAG stops. Since children under 10 are free, then this is something the whole family can enjoy. For safety, we will also be having some of our local firefighters and policeman in monitoring road crossings with flashing lights, along with SAG support in case of injury or mechanical needs.
After the ride, come down to Congress Square and enjoy a leisurely lunch we've prepared for our riders...and we promise, there's no horse in the burgers.
The annual Dogwood Festival in Orleans, Indiana is an amazing springtime festival that has something to offer the entire family. Check it out at www.orleansdogwoodfestival.com. There's something for the whole family, including a town-wide yardsale, so come visit us in Orleans on Saturday, April 22nd to experience southern Indiana's premier spring ride.
The proceeds raised from the race will be given to our Dogwood Festival and the Gary Sinise Foundation. This foundation's mission is to serve our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need. With this ride, we hope to make an impact to both our local and national communities
On the day of the ride, please sign in at registration. You will receive your lunch wristband to be enjoyed at the end of the ride
