IN-PERSON RIDE FAQ

When and where can I pick up my rider packet?

For in-person riders, you can get your packet one of two ways:

Pre-Ride Pack Pick Up  - Saturday, October 19th from 10am-2pm
Mike’s Bikes – Pleasanton
6754 Bernal Ave #710, Pleasanton, CA 94566

Day of Event - Arrive with plenty of extra time to spare on ride day and pick up your rider packet before you line up at the start. Pick up is available starting at 6:30 AM.

What if I need to change my ride distance after I've registered?

Sometimes, training doesn't go as planned...or goes much better than expected...and you may find yourself wanting to switch routes.  Follow these steps to change your event route in your RunSignUp account:

      • Login to your RunSignUp account (you must use the same email that you registered with)
      • Scroll down to “Upcoming Races” and select “Manage Registration” next to Cycle of Hope
      • Click on “Transfer Event” (top right-hand corner under profile pic)
      • Click on “Start Transfer” and complete required information to switch your event
Can I do Cycle of Hope on an E-Bike?

Yes, e-bikes are allowed. Please follow all road rules, including speed limits.

I really want to ride on the big day, but I don't have a bicycle! What can I do?

Some cycling shops have bike rentals. Sports Basement, for instance, have a range of rental options available.  Hopping on a rental from a local bike shop can be a great way to join us for the big day on October 20th, even if you don’t have wheels of your own. Plus, many local rental and demo programs offer the option to put your fee toward the purchase of your ride if you love it enough for a long-term commitment!

Will photos be taken?

We’ll be taking on-course and finisher photos at the in-person ride on October 20th, which we will share post-ride. If you’re a Virtual DIY athlete, we’d love to see your photos! Post them to social media and be sure to tag @HabitatCycleOfHope and use hashtag #BiketoBuildHomes. You can also upload your photos when you submit your virtual results to RunSignup, and take a look at community photos!

What if the in-person event is canceled?

Should the in-person event be canceled for a reason outside of the organizers' control, participants will have two options:

    1. Transfer your registration to the Virtual DIY format for the current year
    2. Support Habitat for Humanity by converting your registration fee to a tax-deductible donation
