Q: Why Sol Fest?
A: "Sol" stands for solstice, and "Fest" stands for festival. During winter, the earth tilts away from the sun, causing longer nights and shorter daylight hours in the northern hemisphere. To make the most of the limited sunlight, we encourage everyone to get outside and enjoy nature. For the month of December, CorpsTHAT celebrates Sol Fest with a Trail-A-Thon, bringing together our community to embrace the season and support our mission!
Q: What miles count?
A: Only exercise miles logged from December 3, 2024 to January 5, 2025 count. Incidental miles, like walking to the mailbox or around the grocery store, do not. Please only log miles earned through intentional exercise.
Q: How do I log my miles?
A: Check your 'Welcome to Sol Fest 2024' email. There are links to the Google Forms for the Miles Log and the Hours Log. If you did not receive this email, please contact us at info@corpsthat.org. You can visit our Results Page to add your miles/hours and see how other Sol-Festians are doing.
Q: Do I have to be in Maryland to participate?
A: No! You can join from anywhere in the world.
Q: Can I log miles on trails?
A: Yes! Run, walk, hike, bike, or paddle on any surface—roads, trails, greenways, treadmills, or water all count.
Q: Can I participate with friends?
A: Absolutely! Each participant must register individually or you can all join and create a team fundraiser.
Q: Can I split hours/miles with my fundraising team?
A: Yes! You and your team can divide the hours/miles however you like to complete and reach your goal together.
Q: When do I need to log my miles by?
A: The Sol Fest ends at 11:59 pm EST on January 5, 2025, yet you can log all miles until 11:59 pm on January 10, 2025.
Q: When will I get my race bib?
A: You’ll receive your race bib about two weeks after registration. If you haven’t received it, please email us at info@corpsthat.org.
Q: When will I receive my T-shirt?
A: You’ll receive your T-shirt about two weeks after you reach the $50 goal. If you haven’t received it, please email us at info@corpsthat.org.
Q: When will I get my fundraising prize(s)?
A: You'll receive your prizes about three weeks after Sol Fest ends. If they don’t arrive, please contact us at info@corpsthat.org.
