Race Day Schedule – Conquer the Pier

Friday, July 19, 2024 | Venice Beach, CA


🎟️ Same-Day Packet Pickup

📍 At the event site (near the Venice Pier)
🕕 Opens at 6:30 AM
✅ Closes 15 minutes prior to each race start
🎽 Includes: Race bib, commemorative shirt, string bag, medal, and access bracelet to the finish line pier celebration


🕘 Race Start Times | Wave Starts

  • 5K — 🕣 8:30 AM
    (All divisions combined; an additional wave may be added based on number of registered participants)

  • 1 Mile — 🕙 10:00 AM
    (All divisions combined; wave start may be adjusted)


📍 Start & Finish Line Location

Start and finish at the end of the Venice Beach Pier, about 600 yards out over the water.
Yes — you’ll literally run across the ocean!
🏁 Finish line is located near the festival/expo area.


🗺️ Course Details

5K Course:
Flat, fast, and scenic! Starts and finishes at the end of the Venice Beach Pier. The course takes you along the historic Venice Beach Boardwalk, surrounded by beach views, vendors, and murals.

1 Mile Course:
Starts on the Venice Boardwalk and finishes at the tip of the pier. Perfect for speedsters, families, and anyone wanting a unique racing experience!


🧍‍♀️ Starting Line Tips

• Begin lining up at least 15 minutes before your race starts
• Line up by pace: faster runners in front, walkers and strollers toward the back
• Chip timed – so no need to crowd the start line


💦 Water Stations & Recovery

• Water available at the halfway point and finish line
• Electrolyte drinks offered at the finish
• First Aid Team roving the 5K course
• Full First Aid Station located in the main expo area


🏆 Awards Ceremony

🥇 Awards available for top finishers in all divisions
📍 Pick up your award near the stage in the parking lot area just outside the pier after your race

After you race, head into our Finish Line Celebration on the Venice Pier!
