Old Fort Strong Endurance Festival

Help me in my effort to raise money for the Old Fort Strong Fund. This fund is dedicated to helping support community members in Old Fort who have lost their homes or had significant damage to their homes and will not receive any help to pay for rebuilding from insurance.  Due to the massive flooding that took place outside of historic flood zones, many homes did not have flood insurance to cover this cost.  In total 50+ homes were lost in McDowell County alone.  The goal is to raise $2,000,000 from this event alone to help in this cause.  All donations will go directly to helping those in need in our community.  

If you've been following me, you know that Camp Grier has been a critical relief hub for those in the Old Fort area, both victims and relief workers.  They've fed and housed members of the NCDOT as well as displaced neighbors since immediately after the storm. I volunteered there last week and was amazed at the amount of supplies they've managed gather even while being victims of the storm themselves. 

Tanawha Adventures has been a light to my life for years now since I joined them at Camp Grier at a Trail Running Camp with Sally McRae three years ago almost to the day. I'm delighted she'll be supporting this festival. 

The hosts of this event, Camp Grier and Tanawha Adventures have had a profound impact on my life, even apart from running. I know many others feel the same. 

Please help me give back to a community I hold so dear.
