Last year, I participated in the chesed 24/7 5k event for the first time. It was a last minute spur of the moment decision and I am so glad I did it. It was one of the most amazing events I've experienced. Girls and woman from all different stages of life got together for this amazing event. The energy and Achdut between everyone as we ran through American Dream Mall, to the joy and laughter of the "after party", it was amazing to see. We heard story from girls who have over come challenges we should never know of, and how Chesed 24/7 helped them out.
Truth be told, I was not going to participate this year. Asking people to donate money, even to an amazing cause like this one, is a hard thing to do. There are so many organizations that do so much for so many people that we are constantly asking you to open your wallets and give. But the more I thought about it, the more I knew this was something I had to do. No, its not comfortable to ask for money, but it is people like you, who donate so willingly, that make it worth my will to go out of my comfort zone to once again ask for you to open you hearts and wallets to this much needed cause. Not only will I be running, and trying to beat my time from last years race, but I will start my page off with the first $1,000 - to help stock a fridge. What are you willing to do?
