Hi Friends & Family,
I'm thrilled to be participating in the 19th Annual Safe Passage 5K! I first visited Safe Passage's community in 2006, and it's held a special place in my heart since.
Founded in 1999, Safe Passage provides valuable services to over 600 students and 300 families annually, providing free, full-day education, healthcare, nutrition and social services to a vulnerable community in Guatemala City. A large number of these families earn a living by recycling discarded items from the garbage dump. This is grueling, dirty and dangerous work that typically averages an income of only $3 - $4 a day.
Your contribution can make a significant difference in the lives that Safe Passage serves. For example,
• A $10 gift provides three student's meals for one day on campus.
• A $75 gift pays the cost of food and preparation for 25 student's meals for a day on campus.
• A $100 gift covers a student with roughly one month of support from our social services team.
Any amount you can donate will make a big impact on these students and the community! Thanks for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Ruby
