Story

Thank you for visiting my RATPOD fundraising page!  RATPOD is a one-day cycling event that raises money for Camp Mak-A-Dream and this year RATPOD is on its 23rd year!!

This annual event is not just about cycling; it's about making a difference in the lives of cancer survivors and their families by supporting Camp Mak-A-Dream.  Camp Mak-A-Dream serves as a haven for cancer survivors, providing them with transformative experiences in the breathtaking landscapes of Montana. For over two decades, RATPOD has been the driving force behind Camp Mak-A-Dream's success, making it the largest fundraising event for this extraordinary cause.

By participating in RATPOD, we contribute to empowering cancer survivors and their families to navigate life with resilience, strengthen vital life skills, and foster lasting connections. Cancer can be an overwhelming journey, but together, we have the power to instill hope and dreams in the lives of those affected.

Camp Mak-A-Dream changed my life. When I graduated from Montana State University my heart grew distant from my degree in Civil Engineering. Unsure of what direction I wanted to go I found my way to Camp Mak-A-Dream where I worked as the activities coordinator in 2019 and was support crew/DJ/steve harvey during camps first 2 unexpected virtual seasons. I can't describe how powerful it was to see campers from across the country get off that bus and arrive at camp. It was an absolute honor and privilege to welcome such incredible souls to Montana and provide them with an escape from the hospital. I was initially nervous wondering how I am going to relate with individuals that have been facing the unimaginable. I discovered one of my important lessons at camp which is through hardship and pain one of the best things you can do for someone is to show up. Whether it was connect 4, a talent show, sing wagon wheel, or getting to the top of the Butte it was human relationship that provided the most potent medicine I've witnessed. My experiences at camp will forever be with me and I plan to carry the mission and energy camp provides through my career in medicine.

Many thanks for your invaluable support as we strive to make a lasting impact on the lives of those touched by cancer. Together, we can turn dreams into reality!
