Old Fort Strong Endurance Festival

On Saturday, December 7, 2024, I will be running a 12-hour race at the Old Fort Strong Endurance Festival that will be held at Camp Grier in Old Fort, NC. The goal of the Endurance Festival is to raise $2,000,000 for the Old Fort Strong Fund, which is dedicated to helping support community members in Old Fort, NC who lost their homes or had significant damage to their homes as a result of Hurricane Helene, and will not receive any help to pay for rebuilding from insurance. Hurricane Helene brought devastation and massive flooding in areas that are outside of historic flood zones, so many of the residents and businesses did not have flood insurance to cover the cost of damages. In total, over 50 homes and many local businesses were completely lost in McDowell County alone.
