Old Fort Strong Endurance Festival

Back in 2017 I fell in love with trail & ultra running. One of the first scary things I did that year was sign up for a trail running camp with Sally McRae in North Carolina. I traveled to Old Fort North Carolina (all alone) and walked into the lodge at Camp Grier terrified. Within minutes I was surrounded by lifelong friends and I fell in love with the people of Old Fort and the beautiful trails of the NC mountains.  This community endured historic damage to the homes, business and town due to the flooding from Hurricane Helene. So many people need OUR help & I am asking YOU to support me in raising funds for this amazing community. 

I have signed up for the Old Fort Strong Endurance Festival 24hr Run, and will be logging miles on the beautiful trails of Camp Grier to raise money for this community. Help me in my effort to raise money for the Old Fort Strong Fund. This fund is dedicated to helping support community members in Old Fort who have lost their homes or had significant damage to their homes and will not receive any help to pay for rebuilding from insurance.  Due to the massive flooding that took place outside of historic flood zones, many homes did not have flood insurance to cover this cost.  In total 50+ homes were lost in McDowell County alone.  The goal is to raise $2,000,000 from this event alone to help in this cause.  All donations will go directly to helping those in need in our community.
