I am a 58-year-old husband, father, grandfather, and foodservice executive who has undergone 6 heart procedures, including 2 open-heart surgeries, in the past three years. As a former competitive athlete, my passion for cycling ignited after my last surgery in late winter 2024. I feel a deep connection to those awaiting life-saving transplants and those who have received them.
Facing severe medical challenges and being given a second chance at life and health has driven me to make the most of this opportunity, and I hope to inspire others to do the same. My message is simple: "Don't look at what I did—look at what you can do!"
I am honored to race for the Chris Klug Foundation in the Unbound 100, a 108-mile gravel race in Emporia, Kansas, in June 2025. The foundation's mission is to promote organ, eye, and tissue donation and improve the quality of life for those impacted by transplantation. Through this race, I am raising funds to support CKF's mission. Every contribution helps save lives and improves the future for many.
Join me in this journey by supporting the Chris Klug Foundation. Together, we can make a lasting difference.
