Hello friends and family and Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Another year in the books and another year I'll be riding in the Ben to Shore bike ride to support the "Families behind the badge Children's Foundation." They are a non-profit committed to improving the lives of children in the Greater Philadelphia and South Jersey area. We achieve this by providing necessary financial relief for the families of fallen or critically injured first responders (police officers, firefighters, EMTs) and cultivating positive relationships and interactions between police officers and the children in the communities they serve.
Below is an update of my achievements in races last year
AC Sprint Tri Relay- I did the running leg of this and ran my best 5k time at 20:39 (a 6:40 pace), crushing my previous time of 21:56. (a 7:05 pace).
AC 70.3 Half IronMan- 1.2 Mile Swim, 56 Mile Bike, 13.1 Mile Run. My Second time doing this race and wanted to do it below 6 hours because my time was 6:06:03 last year. I completed it in 5:57:31! Crushing it.
Market St Run / Run for Blue - 5 Mile Run. A solid run along Market St and turn-a-round at 30th St Station. I did this in 35 minutes flat at a pace of 7 minutes. Again, another best.
Broad St Run- 10 Miles. My 12th time participating in this race. Another PR Smoking my best from 2 years ago. With a final time of 1:13:53 (pace of 7:23/mile) I managed to beat my overall time by over a minute and a half.
Escape the Cape- Swim 1 Mile, Bike 12, Run 5. Overall time was a bit slower than last year but only because we actually swam the full mile. No one's fault but the strong current pulling the ferry we jumped off to start the swim portion. However, I did crush my bike time by picking up an entire mile per hour. The run went great too and dropped my overall pace. Next year I have to work on my Transition stages to pick up some time in between each discipline.
I had a hell of a year. So good that I don't know how I'm going to improve a lot of these times. Only training will tell...
Thanks everyone!
Love Dan
