I'm riding in this year's Ben to the Shore Bike Tour as a tribute to my late father, Frank.
Forty-three years ago he succumbed to the terrible disease of Leukemia. A disease that contributed to his death from being a firefighter. As a dedicated family man and courageous firefighter, he embodied the essence of selflessness, bravery, and compassion. His service as a first responder not only symbolized his willingness to confront danger head-on but also underscored his profound empathy for those in distress.
First responders' devotion to their colleagues and the communities they serve; exemplifies the noblest qualities as a beacon of hope and support in times of crisis, offering reassurance and aid to all in need. Their enduring commitment to serving others, often at great personal risk, serves as a testament to the resilience and fortitude of those who dedicate their lives to the protection and well-being of others.
I believe strongly in The FBBC Foundation and its dedication to supporting the children and spouses of fallen first responders. By donating to this cause, you're not only honoring my father's memory but also ensuring that his legacy and so many other fallen first responders' sacrifices are never forgotten.
