I am riding 200 miles for the kids.

Hi Friends, I am really pleased to let you know that for the 2nd time, I will be riding 200 miles with the Santa Cruz Sunrise Rotary Charity Bike Ride. The Rotary Club of Santa Cruz Sunrise has a long history of supporting youth organizations with this ride.  This year we will be biking to raise funds to bring an inclusive and accessible playground to our community: Treasure Cove at Jade Street Park!

Why is this project so important? Consider these facts:

  • Every Child Deserves to Play: One out of every ten children has a disability, and traditional playgrounds often don't accommodate their needs.
  • Promoting Inclusion and Joy: Treasure Cove at Jade Street Park aims to foster compassion, acceptance, connectedness, and joy among children of all abilities.
  • Designed for All: The playground features a marine and shoreline theme with specialized zones catering to various needs, including a Climb and Slide Zone, Swing and Sway Zone, Tot Zone, Sensory Zone, and Game Zone.
  • Mid-County Accessibility: Located at Jade Street Park, this playground will be easily accessible to families from all parts of the county.

Please read more about our beneficiary organizations and how through our partnership we will support our young community members.

In addition, as always, the ride will provide support to other community organizations dedicated to the heath, well-being and growth of youth in our community.   Included this year are: Skills of Life Café, The Teen Kitchen Project, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County, Santa Cruz Sunrise Rotary's High School Scholarship program (providing 2 and 4-year college scholarship) and the Charities and Grants program (providing grants to local youth athletic and arts organizations).

I've committed to fundraise a minimum of $1000 with a personal goal of $4000!  So please consider sponsoring me for this ride.  With an all-volunteer crew 100% of the proceeds go to the charities, and it’s all tax deductible as the Santa Cruz Sunrise Rotary Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit.

Donations by cash or check can be mailed as follows:
Checks should be made out to "Sunrise Rotary Foundation" and mailed to the following address:
Rotary Club of Santa Cruz Sunrise,
    PO Box 7026
    Santa Cruz, CA 95061

Include on the Memo Line "Bike Ride Sponsorship for ..." and add my name.

Thank you for sponsoring me and for making a difference in our community!
