Two Very Special People

On February 11, we will be participating in RUN 24.7, l'iluy Nishmas Tobie and Fejgy Jacobovits, a very special couple who were beloved and are sorely missed by their friends; neighbors; nieces, nephews and other relatives; but especially their children and grandchildren.  They were very giving people who spent their entire lives going out of their way to help others in a myriad of day-to-day ways -- whether it be offering rides, working on tzedakah events behind the scenes but never at the forefront, lending money so the school could make payroll, chaperoning trips, picking up a favorite snack for their children's friends, holding doors open, taking in children while their mother was in the hospital, making food for new moms and new neighbors way before there were meal trains. The unifying factor of their chesed was that they paid attention to what was needed and acted to fill it.

We chose Chesed 24/7 as a means to pay tribute and earn further zechusim for them for two reasons

1) The Jacobovitses and their family were the beneficiaries of a range of Chesed 24/7 services as Mr. and Mrs. Jacobovits aged and especially during various hospitalizations.

2) Like the Jacobovitses, this incredible organization notices all the small details of what someone needs and jumps in to fill it with warmth and love

By joining our efforts --either by becoming part of or team or contributing -- you’ll be ensuring that thousands of patients have the meals, coffee, snacks, and other essentials they count on, from Shabbos candles to Seder plates! Furthermore, you'll be ensuring the continuation of the Jacobovitses legacy of chesed without fanfare and what could be a greater aliya for their neshomos?
