Dear Friends and Supporters,
In today’s world, families like ours often find ourselves in an uphill battle—fighting with insurance companies to get Beau the care and resources he deserves. But through it all, we are incredibly grateful to have Children’s Mercy Hospital standing by our side, providing unwavering support, exceptional care, and the reassurance that we are not alone.
Beau was born with hydrocephalus and diagnosed with L1CAM, a rare genetic condition. At just one week old, he underwent brain surgery to have a shunt placed. Every day, he continues to show Nicole and me just how strong and resilient he is, inspiring us to keep pushing forward.
Why I’m Running:
This year, I’m running a half-marathon to give back to the hospital that has given so much to our family and countless others. Children’s Mercy provides world-class medical care, but more importantly, they provide hope and unwavering support when families need it most.
How You Can Help:
🏃♂️ Donate: Every contribution helps fund life-changing treatments, research, and resources for children.

In a world where families like ours are left fighting for what should be guaranteed care, Children’s Mercy stands as a beacon of compassion and dedication. With your help, we can ensure they continue making a difference for so many families in need.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support!
With love,
Nicole, Jonathan, and Beau Burkett
