Description
One of the most challenging cycling events in the Southeast
During the last weekend of September, two days of bicycling fun with a weekend-long expo and a day of cycling through the beautiful mountains of North Georgia. Thousands of cyclists will gather for the Six Gap Bike Expo. The following day, around 3,000 cyclists are expected to make the annual uphill pilgrimage in three noncompetitive rides for the Six Gap Century & Three Gap Fifty.

SIX GAP CENTURY
The Six Gap Century’s ultra challenging route takes you up and down six of the steepest climbs in the North Georgia Mountains. Test your stamina with more than 11,200 feet of vertical climbing over the 104 mile course. Elevations for the six gaps in this ride range from 2,949 feet to 3,490 feet. The toughest climb, Hogpen Gap, will test even the strongest riders, averaging a 7% grade for seven miles, with sections as steep as 15%. Course Map
THREE GAP FIFTY
The Three Gap Fifty’s alternative route offers half the gaps and half the distance, but is nevertheless a demanding and challenging course at 58 miles. Elevations range from 3,109 feet to 3,280 feet. Course Map
VALLEY RIDE
The 35-mile Valley Ride is a great introduction to the infamous Six Gap Century. Taking place in Georgia's Premier Cycling Venue, the Six Gap Valley Ride boasts some of the most scenic mountainside in the Southeast. This route will cast a special spotlight onto Yahoola Valley, Turner's Corner, and R-Ranch in the Mountains. Course Map

The Six Gap Century & Three Gap Fifty starts in Dahlonega, Georgia, at Lumpkin County High School. There is plenty of parking, with overflow parking nearby if necessary, and restroom facilities and showers will be available. The ride is sagged for safety (no personal sags, please), and refreshments are provided at well-organized rest stops along the course. To ensure timely completion of the ride for all participants.
BIKE EXPO
Our Bike Expo will be held at Lumpkin County High School next to packet pick-up and registration on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 9:00am-4:00pm and all-day Sunday.
BIKE LIGHT LAW REMINDER
**For safety reasons, if you plan to ride your bike to the High School from Lumpkin County Middle School or a hotel downtown while it's still dark (before 6:55 a.m.) and after the ride concludes (after 8 p.m.), you will need to have a light placed on the front and rear of your bike. If you do not have lights placed on the front and rear of your bike, you will be cited.
If you would prefer to ride without a light remaining on the front of your bike, we do have a bag check.
Georgia bike laws state the following in regards to lights:
Every bicycle when in use at nighttime shall be equipped with a light on the front which shall emit a white light visible from a distance of 300 feet to the front and with a light on the back which shall emit a red light visible from a distance of 300 feet to the rear. Any bicycle equipped with a red reflector on the rear that is approved by the Department of Public Safety shall not be required to have a light on the rear of the bicycle.

REGISTRATION DETAILS
Discounted Registration will end September 24th or at the ride limit of 2,500 riders, whichever occurs first. The registration fee includes a t-shirt, snacks, drinks, showers, and dinner (from 11 am-6 pm) at the end of the ride. Fees are nonrefundable. Please note that t-shirts are only guaranteed if registered by September 14, 2024, at 11:59 pm EST. T-shirt availability for registrations after that date will be on a first-come, first-served basis. T-shirts will be distributed at Early Check-in on Saturday, September 24th, and the day of Ride check-in. The event takes place rain or shine.
