Hello family and friends,
Since I retired this year, I picked up cycling for fun and exercise. I got a new bike and started riding. Well this July, I plan to take part in The Great Bicycle Tour – TGBT XXXVIII. The plan is to ride my bike 184.5 miles over four days from Cumberland, MD to Washington, DC! I’m looking forward to the adventure but I need your help.
You may be wondering, what is The Great Bicycle Tour (TGBT) and why am I riding it? Well, TGBT is the major annual fundraiser for the nonprofit where Elisa works. San Mar Family and Community Services hosts the annual event, providing support for 130-150 cyclists who all raise funds for the organization's programs of foster care, mental health services, and community trauma-prevention programs.
There are so many reasons for doing this special ride: to make a difference, a bucket list ride, a challenge, etc. But the most important thing that happens as a result, is that children and families who are facing some tough situations, will be helped and supported.
Would you be willing to help me reach my personal fundraising goal for San Mar as I commit to this challenge? Every gift is appreciated, and it all adds up, so whatever you can give is perfect. Thank you so much!
