I have been working with Southern Arizona Adaptive Sports for the past year as a coordinator at the Eduardo Aguirre Adaptive Cycling Center. SAAS and the cycling center has been a great blessing for me this year, as life has been a bit overwhelming. Being a part of the cycling center, meeting new riders and seeing the smiles on faces of people riding bikes for the first time made it a lot easier to cope with. The Eduardo Aguirre Adaptive Cycling Center is open to the community free of charge to use our adaptive bikes, the Adaptive Cycling Center offers Adventure thanks to the support from our sponsors OMEO Wheelchair, there is also a focus on mental health and wellbeing for our community.
Southern Arizona Adaptive Sports also has SAAS Cares, which is focused on making sure the community has working medical equipment. SAAS receives donations of used wheelchairs and refurbishes them to disturb to the community.
This year I will be riding the 32-mile ride instead of the 102 miles. I decided I will be taking the time to enjoy the cycling community, and ride with many of the athletes from the Southern Arizona Adaptive Sports and OMEO team. Even though I won’t be riding the longest distance this year, I still believe with my amazing support of family and friends that we can come through as a community and raise funds to keep the Adaptive Cycling Center going “The Distance” for years to come.

Please look at our site and see all the amazing outreach SAAS is doing for the community, I am looking to raise funds to help support this mission and continue to have the support and sense of community for individuals with disabilities. Please think about donating to help support my passion for Southern Arizona Adaptive Sports. I am asking for donations to support SAAS by continuing to spread the joy of cycling, adventure, and mental and physical wellbeing.
Thank you for continuing to support me and my LOVE of CYCLING over the last 15 years.
