For MANY years, I never realized what a treasure we have here in Wisco. Our bike, dog walking, and running paved trails are awesome! I hope you have checked them out...and if you have, I hope you will be willing to sponsor my ride with a donation to the Wisconsin Bike Federation. The Bike Fed is Wisconsin's statewide non-profit bicycle advocacy group.
Since its inception, the Bike Fed has taught thousands of children and adults how to ride safely and legally. The Bike Fed is responsible for legislation like the three-foot passing law, the anti-dooring law, e-bike legislation, and rules that have helped get paved shoulders added to thousands of miles of roads across Wisconsin. The Bike Fed also promotes the bike industry and Wisconsin's hundreds of races and rides on our website and through the circulation of our annual Ride Guide magazine.
Last year, anyone who felt compelled to recognize my retirement was instructed to donate to the WI Bike Fed. Any retirement gift money I received, went straight to the WI Bike Fed to support their vision to make Wisconsin one of the best places in the world to ride a bike, and to their mission-to cultivate, motivate, and unite a strong community of citizens as well as business and political leaders to move bicycling forward in Wisconsin – through education, legislation and involvement. It was such a pleasure to support such a noble cause and I am proud to say that through my MANY former students, friends, and family, we supported the WI Bike Fed with about $1600. I became a VIP in the 240 mile RAW ride and in the end, WE ALL BENEFITTED!
In 2025, I am attempting once again to reach last year's fundraising goal of $1500 to support our premiere non-profit cycling organization. I hope you will be willing to help me with a donation to continue to move bicycling FORWARD in Wisconsin! Donate NOW!
BTW: the SANTA RAMPAGE...if you want some December Fun, PLEASE join me the first SAT in December --with a Santa Suit, Ms. Claus, Grinch, Reindeer, or Yukon Cornelius costume and support the WI Bike Fed then too. That is a fun day!
