Old Fort Strong Endurance Festival

Dear Friends,

Please help me in my effort to raise money for the Old Fort Strong Fund. This fund is dedicated to helping support community members in Old Fort who have lost their homes or had significant damage to their homes.  Due to the massive flooding that took place outside of historic flood zones, many homes did not have flood insurance to cover this cost.  In total 50+ homes were lost in McDowell County alone.   All donations will go directly to helping those in need in the Old Fort community.  

I have trained and raced extensively in the Old Fort area over the past decade.  In that time I have grown to love this beautiful area that has reinvented itself around the outdoor recreation community. I will be participating in the 6 hour event virtually on December 7th, 2024.  I will run the Mistletoe 1/2 Marathon with the Fleet Feet Training group that I coach.  I will then continue to run as many miles as I can in 6 hours.  My goal is to run the 1/2 marathon course 3 times (39.3 miles total) in under 6 hours.  I would like to raise at least $3,000 towards the $2,000,000 event goal.  People in our mountain communities will be recovering for years to come.  Any amount you can donate is helpful!
