Old Fort Strong Endurance Festival

Old Fort, NC, is a small town near our home in Asheville, NC, and we feel part of this community because it's where Jon works creating new trails in the national forest. It was devastating to learn how badly Old Fort flooded. It's unbelievable that the tiny creek flowing through the town washed away homes, roads, cars, railroads, and businesses —and took people's lives. This flood was way beyond anything that anyone anticipated and many of the people who lost their homes had no flood insurance.

On Dec. 6, I'm taking part in an endurance bike ride called Old Fort Strong. This event is a fundraiser and all donations go directly to helping community members in Old Fort. Your donation will support people who have lost their homes or had major damage to their homes, who will not receive any help to rebuild from insurance. 

Can you help me raise money so people can rebuild their homes?

Old Fort Strong is organized by Camp Grier, a Christian camp that is a key partner in the G5 Trail Collective that Jon directs. Since the first days of this disaster, Camp Grier has been providing hot food, showers, laundry, and emergency supplies to the community. This event will help people not only survive the immediate crisis, but rebuild for the long haul.
